Index Based Fuel Surcharge

Changes in the fuel prices have resulted in increased costs for the transport industry in the last years. Up to now we have absorbed the full impact of these increases, but unfortunately this is not longer possible.

Due to this fact, GLS Ireland will be implementing a flexible fuel surcharge to be levied on all shipments as at the 1st April 2006.

It is anticipated that there will be a further increase in fuel prices, therefore it is necessary to implement a flexible fuel surcharge. GLS Ireland will adjust accordingly the surcharge in line with future movements in fuel prices. The surcharge will be linked to the monthly updates published by the European Commission Directorate for Energy and Transport. Once the new indexes are published, GLS Ireland will calculate the new fuel surcharge which will be validated immediately.

The last week of the month average will be used to surcharge shipments for the following month.
