New: 24-hour transports to Northern Ireland
During the middle of February 2005, GLS set up 24-hour transports to Northern Ireland. “Feedback from customers has been very positive“, says Olaf Stuewe, Managing Director of GLS Ireland. “Delivery volumes to and from Northern Ireland have already increased considerably.” The result: GLS Ireland now offers secure and reliable parcel delivery with a regular delivery time of 24 hours throughout the entire Emerald Isle. To aid this process, GLS’ own IT system, GEPARD, ensures the seamless flow of information and, in addition, offers other functions to facilitate the comfortable preparation of consignments. GEPARD’s modular structure allows it to be configured to meet the needs of individual customers and optimise consignment dispatch. In addition to parcel tracing, parcel labels with full routing information can be compiled by the sender. This allows parcels to be picked up from the customer at later times.
New: Direct Return Service
Since February 22nd of this year, GLS Ireland has been offering customers the Direct Return Service. “This special service not only includes the collection of all types of technical equipment but also the delivery of replacement products”, explains Olaf Stuewe. The customer reports the defective unit directly to the manufacturer who starts the collection process via GLS. The GLS delivery drivers then collect the old unit and replace it directly with a new one. “The service is very effective, particularly for products covered by a guarantee, and offers firms an easy way to handle their returns”, says Olaf Stuewe.
New: GLS shipping and handling guidelines accessible online
With immediate effect, customers can view GLS shipping and handling guidelines on the GLS Ireland website – www.gls-ireland.com. The guidelines provide customers with important information on all issues related to parcel dispatch: from the correct labelling of different parcel types to packing guidelines, right through to details on maximum sizes and weights.
