GLS - Information technology - GEPARD

To ensure a continuous and smooth flow of information, GLS has developed an IT system for parcel distribution management which provides reliable communication and allows rationalisation potential to be fully exploited: GEPARD. The modular structure of GEPARD allows customer-specific configuration for the best possible management of consignments. These various functions, such as tracking & tracing or the quality return service, are linked through GEPARD Connect.

GEPARD Connect provides better transparency, exact processes and an optimised dispatch structure. Addresses from a customer’s database can be printed out directly on GLS delivery labels. The easy handling of the programme simplifies the production of delivery labels considerably. Parcels which are processed in this way can thus be taken directly from the customer’s premises to a hub without first having to be registered in a local depot. Through the improved in-house structures, customers save both time and money.

GEPARD Connect also enables reliable tracking & tracing right to the proof of delivery. Since the delivery is recorded directly on the GEPARD Signer, all relevant data is therefore available electronically. Depending on customer needs, this information can be sought using customer-specific criteria. The consignment relevant data is passed on to the customer through regular data transfer. The path of the parcel can be fully traced from the desktop of the customer.

The quality return service can also be simply and comfortably executed through GEPARD Connect: Returns can be easily initiated and administered by clients using this function. GLS customers can therefore offer their own customers in Germany and abroad a simple way to organise return parcels. This also applies to individual Orders for supply logistics.
